Just returned from New Year's cruise on Norwegian Jewel. The experience was mediocre at best. Sheets in cabin changed once. Towel animals everyone talked about never appeared in our stateroom. Menus repeated ad infinitum. Extra costs for everything. Felt like I was attending a flea market with all the raffles, art auctions, and special deals. The crew was there to upsell. The ports of call (Honduras, Belize, Maya Riviera) were very third world and most of the excursions were cancelled for a variety of reasons. Didn't even get a party hat for the New Year. In general, the crew did not speak English. No opportunity to meet anyone because of freestyle cruising and no interactive activities built in to introduce shipmates. The 18 year olds who were allowed to drink had a great time and ran the ship. Paid extra for use of the spa but didn't need to because people were able to sneak in and occupy all available resources. Some of the shows and entertainment were exceptionally good...the only positive thing I have to say. It was nice to get away with someone I love but I would not travel on an NCL ship again. My advice...select another line.

5002 had sheets changed once! Where were the towel animals? Had to close the toilet seat to flush the toilet. Carpet never vacuumed. Where was housekeeping? Great location.
