A lovely cruise - to great ports! A smaller ship with an older clientele!

My husband had always wanted to see the workings of the Panama Canal! It was an item on his bucket list. The Coral Princess is a lovely ship - we loved the formal dining and met some great new people onboard. We did the full passage of the Panama Canal on an excursion on a smaller ship. We were able to see the workings of the canal and learn more about the history and function. If you are looking for something for everyone, probably not the cruise for you. It was definitely an older group with few children and young adults. Food was great and the room was very comfortable. We had a mini-suite without a balcony. We found that we really liked the additional space. The entertainment could not compete with some larger ships that we have sailed on, but enjoyable and creative. Nightly movies under the stars were very fun! Very friendly and attentive staff. A pleasant surprise was in Cartegena - a great nature park right at the port! Monkeys, parrots, iguanas, flamingos roaming around.

The extra room was wonderful. It was at the front of the ship so expect a little extra motion. The sofa bed had definitely seen better days, but overall it was very enjoyable. Very nice window to let in light and see the sights!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We ended up renting a car and visiting friends before our flight - nice relaxing day

Cartagena (Colombia)

What a delight to walk off of the ship and find a nature park right there - with wifi and a coffee shop. I really enjoyed seeing the roaming monkeys, parrots, flamingos, anteater, peacock and others - so fun and great photo op!
