We picked this cruise because it was a last minute deal over spring break and Celebrity is the same company as Royal Caribbean, which we love and have been on various ships many times! There was nothing wrong with this cruise (we had a great time), but we just feel like there was less to do, the crowd was older, and it was a little more upscale that we want when we are on vacation. Our room was great. All of the service was amazing (as it has been on every cruise we've been on). The Cruise Director, Richard, was great! We thought the excursion were all overpriced... some more than others. Some really awesome things: we made glass. Where else can you do that? Two words: Silent. Disco. Very fun. A lawn on the top deck. Great place to hang out when all the lawn chairs are occupied. And something we hadn't experienced on any other cruise... when we got a soda, they gave us the whole can. That was great. Some different things: The shows were full on productions on several occasions. Not bad (on the contrary, they were amazing), just different. The food in the dining room... I'd see something on the menu that looked awesome. Then I'd read the fine print and there'd be something weird in it that made me not want it. Like bananas and coffee ice cream in the chocolate lava cake. What? That's not to say I didn't love everything I ate in the dining room; I just didn't feel like I could've had and liked anything on the menu as I've felt on past cruises. Our teenage son said the things he went to for Club x were kind of lame due to lack of attendance. Granted, he didn't go to much as the things he was most interested in seemed to occur during our dinner. The ship was very nice and well kept. I would recommend it. I just think we probably won't go on Celebrity again until we are a bit older. (We are mid-40s)

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Not sure if that's the right Cabin Category. It was a veranda room at the back of the ship. We were upgraded for some reason. (We didn't complain!) The cabin was well laid out and there was a TON of storage for a stateroom! I didn't think the bathroom was as small as we've had on some ships. The bed was comfortable, and we could move around, even with the extra bed down from the ceiling. As always, could've used more outlets.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

Costa Maya is fairly run-down and you have to be careful of scammers, I think. We took a shuttle from the port to "downtown" and at the first stop, a bunch of men said we could pay $10 for beach access. No one took them up on it, so then they said free beach access, just pay for food and drink. Still no one took them up on it. We rode to the last stop and walked down the "boardwalk." We found a spot on the beach and spent the afternoon. Free. Be prepared for all the people selling stuff on the beach. If we ever cruise through this port again, we will probably just stay on the ship.

Cozumel

We really liked Cozumel. Walked around and did some shopping. Ate lunch at a local restaurant. Many of the stores are like what you'd find along a beach boardwalk. But those are fun to wander around in.
