We read the reviews after booking so were a bit worried about what we would experience. We needn't have worried. We had an outside plus cabin on deck 6. which was quite spacious. The cabin boy was very nice and all the staff were very friendly. There are lots of places to eat. We ate in "The Sarens" for breakfast and "Orion"where you are waited on for dinner in the evening. Food is available all day. There is entertainment in most of the bars in the evening. We enjoyed "Music Wave" We didn't join the shore excursions. Other passengers enjoyed them. If you want to go to The Botanical Gardens in Funchal we went on a service bus from near the cable car. Number 31 or 31A takes you right outside. It cost just 2 Euros each. We had a taxi back and negotiated 8 Euros The cable car is expensive and we saw long queues.
The cabin was serviced twice a day and towels changed frequently.
