I have never cruised before, but I used to want to work on a cruise ship (life happened, things changed), and I was beyond excited to go on a cruise with my family. My dad purchased the cruise for my 6-year-old daughter and myself, and we traveled with my parents and my grandparents. I was excited for a vacation, but I was also very curious of the service aspect as I work in the hospitality industry. All-in-all, I had a wonderful time, and this cruise exceeded some of my expectations.
Embarkation was easy. The porter took our bags, we took our carry-ons, and we made it through customs in a timely manner (I think...I've actually never been through customs before so...).
The ship itself is a smaller ship (I couldn't tell because it was my first cruise), but the updates it's recently been through are nice. The decor is a bit gaudy in some areas, but that's something I can definitely live with. The Lido Deck gets very crowded, but I expected this. I actually didn't make it up to Deck 14 to check out the mini-golf area as we stayed busy the entire time. The layout of the ship is a little tricky sometimes, but again, nothing I can't live with.
The cabin was more spacious than I had imagined. there was plenty of room for our clothes and a place to store our luggage. The clothing line in the shower was super helpful.
Once you get through the initial hustle and bustle of the port, it was a good time. Definitely research before going, and have an idea of what you'd like to do.
Beautiful water. Great for a lazy beach day.
