Have gotten so we like the longer cruises and this one was just the right length and got to see some new islands and some that we hadn’t seen in a number of years. Had a few disappointments like not opening the diamond lounge so more members could attend. I realize they now have 3 drinks loaded on the card but it just isn’t the same. Unless you are in the lounge, you don’t have the camaraderie of other frequent cruisers. Don’t see the same people every night where you can make long lasting friends. Don’t get the more personal touch where the waitstaff and concierge get to know you, and know how you like your drinks and make you feel special. Don’t get the variety of drinks or the appetizers. We worked hard to get to this level and it gives us bragging rights and I feel that talking this benefit up encourages others to sail Royal so they also can enjoy this perk. You always hear how many days are left before someone reaches the next level.

Although we still had a great time and cruising for us, because of physical limitations, is the way to go, we see more and more penny pinching from the cruise line. No more amenities in the bathrooms. Even 2 star hotels will give you shampoo and lotion you don’t get these anymore. Even the sauce on the bread pudding has been cut back on. Bathrobes for use unless you specifically ask for them, special treats on formal nights, gift from the chef aren’t so special anymore, just cookies you can get from the windjammer, all little things that add up to make you feel special are going on the wayside, but of course prices are going up.

We have sailed on the Oasis ships the last few times and I have to say, getting on and off the bigger ships goes much faster and there is a lot less confusion.

Enjoyed the location right off the elevator. Although it was a full cruise we heard very little noise and being close to the elevator helped my husband who was suffering from a bad knee. We didn’t have tO walk as far.
