We love Holland America. This was our 3rd cruise with them, second time on Oosterdam. First time was on Eurodam. We are not big party people and like the smaller size of the ship. We enjoy the shows and the ship. This is the first time that we did anything in the spa. The first day on ship they offered a full cruise access pass for $199. I loved the ceramic beds-so relaxing and the water pool in the spa. I also used the steam rooms. I liked having the larger showers available in the spa. It is something I will use in future cruises. The cabin tubs/showers are tight for someone who is a little claustrophobic.
I didn't book all my shore excursions thru the ship. I have found more exciting ones that are available through other websites. We did ziplining in Roatan that allowed us to do more that the ship ones did and had a blast. It was our first time and definitely not our last. It was fun seeing Key West on the Trolley. We got off several places and explored. We did a tour in Guatamala thru the ship and enjoyed it. Our stop in Mexico was cancelled because the Mexican government gave away our berth and the captain put our safety first and chose not to take us in where they gave us. I had booked another shore excursion there that wasn't thru the ship and that company had already refunded our money to our credit card by the time we got home. I spend hours reading reviews before I book shore excursions to make sure we will be safe. Can't wait to cruise with Holland America.
Can't remember the cabin number because it has been almost a year since we did this cruise. Even though it was obstructed view we loved having the light and partial views. It was a nice cabin and the steward did a good job. Not the friendliest but that's ok. He kept it clean and wasn't intrusive. First time we didn't really know the name of our cabin steward. I have cruised over a dozen cruises so I am used to knowing my steward.
