  3. Norwegian Getaway
Wanted to try Norwegian again after 20+ years. Big mistake, not for me. Geared to younger families with children. Was on Celebrity 3mths ago so comparisons are inevitable. Big, long ship, cabin near bow, elevators near center, long walk down narrow single file corridor. Cabin itself was well planned except the TV was offset from the bed and balcony was a tiny joke. Did not appreciate freestyle system, had to wait for table every time even with reservation. Tropicana was huge with a singer that could only be heard if you were seated near the stage, we weren't. Savor was nice and intimate but we missed the relationship you build with the same serving crew each night. Looked forward to O'Sheehans pub but no atmosphere, very limited menu and mediocre food at best. Then the noise from the atrium was overpowering and it was way too small for the many activities that were planned there. Other wise the atrium area was very nice. Dining room food was poor to good but even the best (prime rib) was no match for Celebrity. Buffet was well planned but blah food, cardboard pizza. Ice cream was excellent, had many soft serve cones; lime sherbert to die for! We only made it to one evening show, million dollar quartet which was excellent, a cruise highlight. We cruise the caribbean for the snorkling and scuba which was excellent at all ports. On Celebrity we saw Captain Kate each day and she was there at disembarkation to thank everyone as they left. We never saw the captain of the Getaway. Too much extra cost dining and entertainment venues, OK for families with children and spare money, not for us. Back to Celebrity or maybe even Holland America!

Big ship but too much space for extra cost eating. Too many people.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BD 10100
Well planned except TV offset so remote only worked from TV side of bed. Lots of storage space. Modern bathroom, nice shower. Tiny balcony. Long walk to elevators down single file corridor, tedious.
