We chose Royal Caribbean, because we were told by our travel agent that they were the higher end family type cruise line and didn't cater to the spring break crowds. Wow,,,What wrong information were we given. We booked a 4 day family cruise our of Port Canaveral, on March 12, 2018. as this was our first cruise we didn't really know what to expect, but when we walked into the terminal to check in and were greeted by approx 3000 college students I should have seen it as a sign of things to come. Check in was fairly quick and we boarded and went to our room. The room was clean and small but as we expected not to be spending much time there was fine for what we needed it for. We went for lunch and were very surprised buy the selection and how compromising the staff were as my son has food allergies we spoke with the Annabel(?) and she made sure the dining staff were aware.

We went to check out the pool as the kids wanted to go for a swim, and my wife wanted to catch some rays but found out that there was no where to lay down in the sun as every available sun spot had a towel or a body on it. we walked around the entire upper deck. We ended up having to sit under the walkway, near the smoking station as they were the only 4 loungers left. Oh well.... no worries... it's only the first day... Lets get a drink,,, I ended up waiting for approx 15 - 20 minutes at the bar near the entrance due to the mob of college students standing in front of it... many of whom would get a drink and then stay at the bar without moving and order a second and a third... etc, creating a huge bottleneck. Needless to say we didn't stay too long. We went back to our room to change and walked around the ship for a bit checking things out until we had to go back to change for supper. The folks at the main dining hall were excellent and went over and above to look after us, even so much as to find our son jello which made his day... after a wonderful supper we wandered around the ship for a bit and retired to our room.

The next day was more of the same unfortunately, but we did get 4 loungers that were in the sun at least but lost them when we went for a drink as my 11 year old son or 14 yr old daughter who was sleeping didn't say anything when two young guys came over and took two of them, to the other side of the pool. My wife talked me out of causing a scene, so we just hung around the two we had until another couple left and asked if we wanted their loungers, which we gladly accepted. I tried to get her a Pina Colada but they had run out of it plus a bunch more, after the first night, so it became "Ok, what do you have left?" Really??? I paid for two drink packages for my wife and I and couldn't get drinks that we wanted... not impressed. The topping on the cake was the drunken guy puking in bathroom only to walk right out and get served again... as he cut line in front of me!!! My wife cried the first two nights because this was not what we paid a lot of money for and it definitely was not what we expected.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin was clean but small. it sufficed for our needs, but we could hear folks in the cabins yelling and partying until very late in the night. the AC stopped working on the third night and it took a couple of hours to get it fixed but other than that it was ok.
