We wanted to see the destinations offered and had used Princess several years ago and thought their service was very good. Times change! Food was lousy in main dining room. They tried to nickel and dime us to death...... everything has a charge now including a tour of the ship, room service, etc. Crowds were not managed well and there were a LOT of long and painful lines. Our cabin steward was excellent but that was all. Dining room attendants were slow. Menu choices were few and BAD! We refuse to pay the "upcharge" of $30 each to eat at the specialty restaurants thinking the dining room should be decent - NOT! One night over 2 hours to get dinner. The one time we ate breakfast in the dining room it was over 90 minutes to get service. I ordered pancakes and got a whopping ONE pancake. Internet was terrible pretty much every day at every hour and I was paying for 5 - 10 minutes to download ONE email. TV had good variety but it was out over 48 hours total and then the front desk said they had no idea what was wrong, when it would be fixed, etc. They did give us a small onboard credit but it didn't make up for their terrible service. Shows were second rate at best and few and far between. There used to be a part of the menu that had every day offerings if you did not like the main course and a New York strip was one of the choices. Now it is like pasta, no cheesecake, etc. At ports we tendered there were LONG and ridiculous lines to get off the ship. You only got off early or on time if you paid for a princess tour. Again, they wanted money, money, money every time you turned around! Super disappointed and after talking to other passengers, we weren't the only ones that felt that way.
