This was a three generation girls cruise for us: 70+, 50+, and 8+ yr old. There was something for everyone. Grandma enjoyed tea time, evening entertainment and dining room dinners. Mom enjoyed pool and beach time. Youngster enjoyed meeting other children and having daily playtime. Loved the New York Pizza cafe at all hours. Loved the yogurt bar in the Lido, complete with many varieties of raw nuts and seeds and non-dairy milks. Wow! You can eat Whole30 on a cruise ship! Fellow passengers were lovely as well. Service was unsurpassed. While we were concerned that this was the biggest HAL ship with 2650 passengers, truthfully we never saw them all. With the number of dining venues and entertainment showtimes, we really felt an unexpected intimacy. Even on port days, it didn't feel like we overwhelmed our Caribbean ports with tons of people. Loved this cruise!! Can't wait to return!!
Our outside cabin, recommended by a future cruise consultant, was lovely. The bathroom lighting and shower were really nice. The cabin had plenty of outlets and USB ports for all our devices. Great movies on the in room tv. The window of our cabin was BIG, letting in the light, the ocean and port views. Our youngster could sit in the window seat.
Mambo Beach. Totally worth the cab fare and family friendly.
Best beach ever. It's hard to believe it's real. The sand and water are idyllic. The HAL barbecue is decent. My favorite part is the slaw, but that's just my thing.
The beaches on either side of the pier are free and clean. We didn't bother with any other parts of the island this time around.
Eagle Beach is fantastic. Palapas are free. Cab fare is not controlled so you can negotiate.
