  3. Celebrity Constellation
Celebrity (#1) and RCL (#2) are our go-to cruise lines. Celebrity has consistently demonstrated to possess excellent staff, well-maintained ships, great food, enjoyable entertainment and worthwhile fitness and special activities. With 200+ days at sea with Celebrity, they continue to excel and fulfil the high expectations we have always experienced and appreciated. This itinerary was another repeat performance by the crew of the Constellation and Celebrity's office staff who responded quickly to India accepting e-Tourist Visas. Note: Kudos to Celebrity, which responded within one week to this change. My wife and I chose this cruise as an exotic adventure to Arabia and India. The Arabian ports (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and in the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat & Khasab) were our primary attractions. The additional prospect of experiencing Mumbai and Goa happened to be a secondary, however interesting curiosity. Although the cruise was a "President's Cruise," we noticed Celebrity's friendly and engaging President (met previously on our Vietnam President's Cruise) was mostly involved with high-end (i.e. expensive) excursions. The Arabian ports were fabulous and unique. The abundant oil-based revenue and wealth has made it wonderful for citizens and tourists visiting Oman and U.A.E. The influx of helpful expat workers makes for wonderful service levels at hotels (Novotel Al Bustan in Abu Dhabi), taxis and our full range of excursions (2 with Viator, 7 with Celebrity). Due to prevailing economic challenges, Mumbai and Goa struggle with extensive litter. We chose Celebrity ship excursions for all port days and were completely satisfied with the itineraries and guides. With 18 sailings with Celebrity (75+ excursions), we have always been thoroughly satisfied with Celebrity's tour guides and value for money.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9
Cabin 09 9055
We noticed Cabin #9055 is close to mechanical functions (possible the pool/hot tub compressors) and makes a degree of white noise which is probably best to avoid. The adjacent balcony rooms will also be impacted.

  • Al Ain
Full day trip was wonderful. Viator (Mr. Latiff) was an excellent guide. Enjoyed seeing all attractions, including the Camel souk, UNESCO oasis, camel race track, Sheik Zayed summer residence, museum with fort, mountain bordering Oman. Good value for money.

  • Day in the Desert
Arabian Safari, Dune Bashing & BBQ (with Viator/Arabian Adventures) included Camel Ride, Sandboarding, Belly Dancing, Whirling Dervish, Falcon handling) was excellent.

  • Burj Khalifa
Great experience on Day 1 (of 2). Fabulous views from the Burj Kalifa (highly recommend going to floors 124 and 125). Also picture stop at the Burj Al Arab and brief drive-through the Palm. Too much time at mall for non-shoppers like us, however overall was fine as window shopping included seeing part of Aquarium and walking around the big water fountain area.

  • Dubai Museum
Did this on Day 2 (of 2). Seeing beach adjacent to Burj Al Arab was a great spot. Museum exceeded expectations. Visited Jumeriah mosque (outside) and historic Dubai neighbourhood which were nice additions. Drive along road populated with extensive array of new buildings was very interesting.

  • Khasab
Did the 4x4 adventure into the mountains. One of our best adventures ever. Roads led to ancient Bedouin caves and newer settlements in the mountains. Roads are precariously perched along mountain sides and views and history is wonderful. Rising to 4,000 feet, you get to see fossils from this elevated area which were once at the bottom of the sea. A remarkable experience to see how the Sultanate of Oman has been transformed over the past 50 years.

  • Mormugao (Goa)
Did the tour to Spice Farm and Mosque. Although mosque was underwhelming, the Spice farm was an interesting educational experience. Drive was extensive. Don't expect to see nice beaches going in this direction. Mostly tropical forests and wide range of houses/villages. Overall, glad to have done this to see this part of the world. Good value. Excellent and extremely knowledgeable tour guide made all the difference.

  • City Tour
This was our tour on second day. Was an interesting walk through areas which were mostly different from Day 1. Still very enjoyable and good value for money.

  • National Ghandi Museum
Celebrity tour (~5 1/2 hours) was excellent and included Ghandi museum, Dobi Ghat, train ride, city walk through Portuguese area, Victoria Terminus, harbour Gate, etc. Wonderful cultural orientation. Foot and vehicular traffic is astonishing. Be prepared to see lots of friendly faces and smiles (which make for a helpful distraction amongst the litter).

  • Nakhl Fort
A great highlight of our trip. Got to see the sprawling city of Muscat and interesting fort and springs flowing from the mountains. A wonderful adventure to see the modern and interesting city and environs of Muscat.
