We chose this cruise because it had stops at two places we had never been. We had a small issue with embarkation. My husband's cruise card did not print out. We had to sit in the terminal while they printed him up a new one. It did take a while. This is the first time this has happened in 11 cruises on Princess. Disembarkation was a breeze. No more filling out the Customs form. We left the ship, picked up our luggage and got right through customs. Very fast!!! The Grand Princess is a wonderful older ship. We had no issues with anything. I had heard there were some toilet issues, but ours was fine, so not sure if that was true or not. We had a balcony room and had plenty of room for our clothes and accessories. We put the empty suitcases under the bed and then used them to put our dirty clothes in. Dining was great. We did anytime dining and went early 5:15 and got a table right away. We also ate at the Horizon Court, Alfredo's, International Café, the Grill and the Pizza place on deck. Everything was delicious! One night at the Crown Grill, and my filet mignon melted in my mouth. So many things to do from shows, to activities and the casino. We saw the production shows, a ventriloquist, the comedian and the entertainment in the Piazza. It was all very good. We enjoyed our excursions to the Turtle Sanctuary, the boat ride through the mangroves to see the birds, and our snorkeling which we also saw humpback and gray whales. The only downside was some time on the beach where the people trying to sell you things got very annoying. Two of our excursions included lunch which was very tasty Mexican food. We would do this cruise again. The crew was so friendly and helpful. They were always smiling and saying hello.
Great room! Balcony is undercover and has two chairs and a table. We ate dinner out there one night. Plenty of room.
We just walked around in Puerto Vallarta and did some shopping.
