We chose this cruise for the itinerary and it just happened to be our first Presidents cruise.

As we are Captains Club select members embarkation was quite fast and efficient. The Constellation is showing a littlest wear and tear but it is still a nice ship. The solarium pool needed a little more sun loungers as on sea days it was not easy to find a free chair. Pool butlers did nothing about chair hoarding so people left their stuff on chairs for over 2 hours without using them which was a pain. We did not like the layout of the Oceanview Cafe (buffet dining) as you had to walk a lot to get your food. If you sat on the oppposite side of the station of food you wanted by the time you got to your seat the food as almost cold. I like the ships which have smaller stations and have more than one station for each food type. Dining in the main dining room was good. We never had to wait long for a table and most days service was good and the food came quickly. The food was nice but nothing outstanding. We thought it would be more special as it was the Presidents Cruise. Entertainment wasn't the best...the cruises' singers and dancers were ok and the shows we saw were ok. Some of the guest entertainers were good especially the magician and the singing/piano player comedian but there was not a lot of variety...there were mainly singing acts. We missed the comedians and other acts like jugglers or acrobats etc which we have seen on other ships. Service in general was good and the staff were friendly and not at all pushy with trying to sell you stuff which was good. Guest relations staff wasn't the best as we had trouble with our tips although it all got sorted out in the end (although we had to speak to 3 people before they understood what we wanted).

We did get a few nice gifts as it was the Presidents cruise and the Captains Club Presidents cocktail was very nice. The Presidents cruise event which took place on the ship this time and was a Bollywood extravaganza was wonderful. There was a show in the theatre which was amazing and lots of Indian food was available and then the poolside party was great with lots of dancing, free drinks and food, henna painting, fortune telling and Indian music.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9

Cabin 09

Inside cabins on the Constellation are a good size. The bed was comfortable although the pillows were a little hard. The bathroom is showing a little wear and tear but everything worked perfectly. The stateroom attendant was nice and got us what we wanted although his cleaning skills lacked a little. My bedside table was always a little dusty as were the shelves in the bathroom.

Port Reviews

Abu Dhabi

We stayed one night after the cruise and went to the Louvre by taxi and to the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque

Muscat

We had been before so had already seen all the important sights. We did ponder taking the hop on hop off bus but were shocked when we tried to book them outside the ship and they were selling tickets at the same rate as the ship tickets which are a lot more than what we have paid in other cities for the same company. We took a taxi to a nice hotel and used their facilities at a rate which included a nice beach and a wonderful swimming pool.

Khasab

A few people organized through the cruise critic message boards a very nice tour which was a dhow cruise to see the dolphins with a local company. Our group had a private dhow and it was a very enjoyable experience and cheaper than the same excursion organized by the ship.

Mormugao (Goa)

We took one of the ships shore excursions to the capital Panjim. It was a nice tour although it was all a bit rushed as we didn't have enough time to go inside the churches we stopped at. Stops were mainly for outside photos which is a pity. We then had a nice walking tour through the older part of town and then got an hour of free time to walk around the city. I would have preferred to have more time at the churches and less free time which most people use for shopping or having drinks or food and we wanted to do more sightseeing.
