First cruise with Royal Carribbean. Embarkation easy after slow start though security. Rooms were ready by 1:30 with all prepaid items in room. We attended the mystery dinner the first night in Giovannis. Food was excellent. First two sea days were fun exploring the ship, going to shows, etc. Only negative was the chair hogs.

Bassaterre was fun to explore, with the shopping and sights within walking distance. St. Maarten was the biggest dissappointment of the cruise. The island is just not ready for tourists after the hurricane. We tried the 4x4 St. Maarten & Beach Escape Excursion, and the whole French side of the island is a mess. I felt that our driving around on the roads, and stopping was interfering with the repairs that should get priority. Even getting out of the port took 30+ minutes due to road construction. The hurricane damage is still significant, and I believe tours should be limited until the island is in better shape.

San Juan was great, and the fortresses were a sight! Labadee was very nice with something for everyone to do. We did the Kayak Adventure and the guides were outstanding.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Lots of room, balcony good size. Bed a little hard. Storage space for everything. Excellent response by maintenance when the toilet failed to operate properly. Refrigerator was more of a cooler than a refrigerator, drinks took a day or more to cool.
