Food was delicious! Service was impeccable! This was our first cruise and we were very nervous, but this cruise has made us "cruisers" for life! I could not believe how smooth this huge ship was. The bartenders at the Schooner bar are our favorite! They make the BEST drinks!! Agnel and Jero were our waiters at dinner and they anticipated our every wish and treated us like royalty. The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly - we were off and on very quickly. The cabin was surprisingly roomy for 3 of us and the beds were unbelievably comfy. Entertainment and activities were endless and very enjoyable. We explored every port. St. Kitts was our least favorite - they may still be recovering from the hurricanes, but there was sewage running in the streets and we did not like the aggressiveness of the local tour salespeople yelling at us and chasing us down to try to sell us something. St. Maarten was beautiful and very friendly. We spent a beautiful day at the beach and the people were much more relaxed and friendly. We did not have a planned excursion and just rented chairs and an umbrella for $30 from a nice fellow who told us the location of the closest restroom and told us a little bit about the island. San Juan was our absolute favorite port. The city was so pretty and the people were very nice. We walked around the city on our own and felt very safe. Labadee was pretty with lots of activities but the "Artisans" at the market were aggressive and we felt harassed. The BBQ cookout provided by Royal Caribbean was not as good as the food served on the ship. Since the island is owned by Royal Caribbean, we didn't think to bring cash to tip some of the apparent locals who helped us find a lounge chair so we felt bad about that. As pretty as the ports were, we discovered we actually preferred staying on the Freedom with all the free drinks, good food and fabulous service. Can't wait for our next adventure with Royal Caribbean!!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Hotels close to port are expensive and not the best.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

too many "sales" people at port that were very aggressive. Sewage running in the streets.

St. Maarten

Water taxi very affordable at $7 per person for round trip with very fun crew. Locals very friendly and helpful, not aggressive. Beach is beautiful.

San Juan

Beautiful city. People very friendly. Felt very safe. Would have liked more time in this port to explore.

Labadee

very pretty. plenty of lounge chairs at beach.
