  3. MSC Seaside
The room was great although the bathroom and shower was small. This was in a balcony room bella experience. The room steward was not up to where he needed to be. He ignored us when we asked for something simple as ice in the room. The main dining room (Impanema) was slow getting around to taking orders on the first night but after that everything went smooth and was great. The food was out of the world. We did the trio dining package for three of the nights. The specialty restaurants were cozy. The wait staff was on the spot with taking food orders, bringing more drinks to the table and giving you enough time to enjoy your meal without attempting to rush your table out for another seating. The buffets had a nice assortment for the different nationalities which were on board. The entertainment was superb with a personal touch from Captain Massa on the last night in the theater. The safety briefing on the first day was quick. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and easy. The MSC for Me phone app was easy to use. Overall, great experience. I would not just go again on the Seaside but am already booked for the December 15, 2018 sailing with a different friend.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Chacchoben Mayan Ruins
It was a little confusing where to exit the port area and then to find the building to meet at for the excursion. There were locals there which were helpful in giving directions. Our guides were friendly and were knowledgeable. Great time was had.

Taxi service was almost nonexistent. It was hard to get a taxi over to Chankanaab (took almost an hour waiting in one spot and being told just one minute). Once there the people at the check in desk was courteous and friendly. They offered an upgrade where pictures could be purchased. There was no pressure into buying this package. Great Experience.

The guide appeared to be unorganized. There were 16 others on the tour which had to be picked up across the island before the tour started. The others were given a meal voucher to where we all had to stop so that they would be able to get their meal. The meals were not ready for pickup. It just seemed that everything was rushed on this excursion.

Climbing the falls was fun. The guide asked for everyone to hang on to the person in front and back of you. This was nearly impossible and was easier to climb without hanging on to anyone else. There were vendors on the way out that forced you to buy from them. This should not be allowed.
