We chose the Diamond Princess Cruise because the timing coincided between Neville's summer lawn bowls competition and his committments to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. It was also very suitable for our honeymoon...We had not experienced a criuse around the both Islands of New Zealand. We have individually travelled on previous liners, and I can only make some comparisons between the QE 2..Dubai to South Hampton a couple of years ago..to celebrate the 10 year anniversay of the Queen Mary..The Diamond Princess provided us with a most enjoyable cruise, and adequate value for our money..although we found some of the local excursions over priced, and therefore we bypassed the offers..we enjoyed many aspects of the islands special sights etc..Our arrival onboard was pleasant, efficient and we found we were most welcomed. The Ship, visually,is majestic, the cabin is roomy, clean, well serviced by our steward,at least twice daily. We had "open dining,"which was good quality, good variety, and well presented..many excellant venues..we also enjoyed the cafes/bars..NIghtly live entertainment was of excellant standard, which was enjoyed by the "full-house" audience..also caught -up with the latest cinematic films.Plenty of activities for all ages ...great input from the crew..All aspects of Service could not be faulted..well organized, efficent and pleasing personalities. The only concern was the lack of experienced gym staff, especially as there appeared to be a large number of novices attempting complex apparatus. There seemed to be only a minimal number of youngsters..which suited our cruise. Thanks to all staff who contributed to our enjoyable honeymoon.
