The service on this ship, the atmosphere, and the kindness of those working onboard the Carnival Fascination outweigh anything you can say that is wrong with this old ship.
Embarking on the ship was quick and easy. Our cabin was small but was roomy enough for the two of us with plenty of space for our belongings that we brought onboard. The carpets looked to have been replaced on this old ship, as does the new bars (Red Frog, Blue Iguana, Alchemy Bar) and the new eateries (Guys Burgers and Blueiguana Catana).
The best part of cruising on this ship for us was our server, Prawee (Santos & Kelvin). They were in the Sensation Dining Room and we ate with them every night at dinner and sometimes for breakfast. Even though we had my time dining we asked for the same table every night and enjoyed every single meal.
Our cabin was spacious enough to walk around in. There was no couch but only a chair which actually was nice since we could walk around the bed without walking into anything. There was plenty of room for all of our belongings for the two of us plus extra space. There were 4 drawers at the vanity area. 4 or 5 shelves where the safe is, then 2 other closets spaces to hang your clothes. Our room steward and his assistant kept our cabin very clean and tidy. We enjoyed talking to them in the hallway. Our cabin was M94. The window was large and I am still trying to figure out how the red piece of candy is on the outside of the window....lol.
We took a taxi to Emerald Beach and really enjoyed the morning there.
Unfortunately, I woke up sick, but my husband took a catamaran trip to snorkel with Calabaza and really enjoyed it!
We took a speed boat/beach excursion with Spencer to Sugar Beach at the Pitons. We had Terry and Nixon as our guides and really enjoyed ourselves. This was our second trip with them since we enjoyed our first trip with Terry a few years ago. Would go a third time!
We took a taxi with Smokey to South Frigate Beach and enjoyed the morning there. The sand is dark and hot and the beach was very nice. Would definitely go back.
We took a guided tour and where so saddened by the devastation this island incured due to the hurricane. It was very sad to see Orient Beach. All the restaurants that once stood where completely gone as where all the inside of all the cottages there. The ocean completely took over this beach when the hurricane came through and showed it no mercy. Very sad. One bar is built and they are hoping to rebuild the cabins. Our best wishes to all that sustained such hearbreak.
