We have sailed on this ship twice before and hadn't been on it for a few years, so having booked and then read some of the reviews on here, we were a little worried before we went, all I can say is, they must have been reviewing a different ship. The Dream is without doubt an old ship, but it was clean and the staff friendly (as we have found on all Tui ships). We sailed on a newer ship (Discovery) last year and the service and standard was comparable.
We were on a late flight so no great queues to get through the embarkation process and luggage was delivered promptly. The next day we found that our All Inc package had not been added, we had booked during a promotion period and this had not been picked up on a computerised system, however this issue was dealt with quickly and efficiently at reception. Our cabin was fairly large compered to other cruises that we have been on, it was kept clean and tidy and towels were of decent standard and the bed comfortable, though pillows seemed a little tired. We dined in the Orion restaurant, food was excellent and service good. Breakfast we also took in the Orion restaurant, sometimes the orders got muddled, but we basically got what we ordered again decent standard.
We felt the main show team were not quite up to what we had seen before on a Tui cruise, but they worked hard and we enjoyed the duo in the Tides lounge.
We had been to all the ports before so knew what to expect and didn't do any organised excursions.
Disembarkation was faultless.
All in all we absolutely enjoyed our cruise and all I can say, nothing is perfect, but this was close thanks to the hard work of the staff.
