Getting tired of Princess! We have Platinum status and have been on 7 cruises with them. 5 trips on the old, traditional ships and 2 trips on the new Royal & Regal ships. We hate everything about the new ships. Food, beds, entertainment, everything is different in a bad way! So why do we keep cruising with Princess?? Just trying to gain status and they go to the ports we want at the time of the month we want. I think we just took our last cruise with Princess! We really, really are ready to venture out and try another cruise line.
We really enjoyed the Dunn's River Falls in Falmouth, Jamaica!! I can't recommend it enough. In fact, we have stayed at all inclusive resorts in Jamaica before, so we just love Jamaica!!
We traveled with 2 kids under 18 and our 20 yr. old. Our younger kids under 18 were bored with the kids place. On previous cruises, some of the kid's activity rooms were formatted a bit differently where they had certain kids crafts/activities set for particular times and kids were allowed to have "free play" and choose to participate in the kids craft/activity if they wanted. Lately though, our last couple cruises were formatted where every kid had to participate in every craft/activity even if they didn't want to and "free play" was scheduled at a particular time. Our kids are tired of how lame Princess has gotten, too.
We are used to a regular balcony room and were upgraded to a deluxe balcony. Nothing special except a tiny little loveseat next to the sliding glass door. The tiny little love seat was not able to be sat on because the way it is built, the 2 cushions slant downward and you will end up sliding onto the floor if you try to sit on it for very long. LAME!!
Typical for Princess Cays. Hot weather and cold water. Extremely long lines for lunch.
We weren't in port for very long. The only thing to do it seemed was for the busses to take loads of people to the public part of the 7-mile beach. We asked to take a taxi to the Cayman Kai beach, but they all said we wouldn't want to go there because it was a 45 minute drive. The water was a bit cooler than other stops in the Caribbean.
