This was our first X cruise after trying NCL, Princess and RC. We decided to try Celebrity after many mostly positive reviews here.
Overall, this was the most relaxing cruise we've ever had. We never felt rushed or pressured at all. Stress was pretty much non-existent. That doesn't mean all was sweetness and light, though.
Pros
Addressed in Pros above. We'd book this cabin again.
Our first time in OSJ; We'd hoped to stroll the Paseo de la Princessa and Paseo del Morro to the Red Gate but they were closed due to heavy wave damage. But OSJ is very walkable so we hiked up the hill to the cathedral. After a stop at El Convento for a refreshing adult beverage it was an easy walk downhill to the pier. On the way we ate at Marmalade - a wonderful and different experience at many levels. Highly recommended.
St Thomas is not a favorite. Took a cab to CA, shopped a bit then back to the ship around lunch time after a little more shopping at Crown Bay. Still hurricane damage at many turns, especially to vehicles; didn't seem to be much recovery work going on. Some other pax reported several beaches not recovered yet.
Compared to St Thomas the Dutch are doing a solid, active job of recovery work. There is still much to be done in Philipsburg with Old Street pretty much gone and several Front and Back street merchants still down but there is the constant sound of hammers and saws. The boardwalk appears 90% recovered with the beach fully operational. We had lunch at Lizzy's on their first day back in operation. A limited menu but what we had was very good. Oh, and the water taxi guys were very friendly and upbeat with a positive message. Bring your best Neil Diamond voice for the short ride.
