Chose this ship as it was a ny departure and we live in ny. Thought it would be easy as we have cruised from ny before. The embarkation went well but the ship is not that handicap friendly. Access to the pool is nil. Areas are crowded. Access to ports are not so good. Out of five, maybe two are accessible. While the staff are very good there are too amny flaws to rate this ship well. Disembarkation was a total nightmare, goodbye yo any good memories on biard. All the handicappers with scooters ( me ) and others with baby strollers, and wheelchairs hammed into a very small area to await wheelchairs to depart. We waited and waited and waited, fianlly my wheelchair arrived. Then it was a lineup to the exit to another elevator to take us to baggage. After a very long wait my husband was on line for a porter. Are they serious? then it was a long trek at least three city blocks long to another elevator to take us to the departure level. all a bummer. Ncl had a bad problem when we took the breakaway out of ny. handicappers are kike lepers to them at ncl ebven tho so many of us go on their ships. Their management is the worst of all the over 30 cruises we have taken with them and other lines.
Our handicap cabin was smaller than any ship i have been on. it was a tight squeeze with my scooter. Also there was a problem with the balcony door. It never closed properly ( all automatic) but we did not report it as we should have,. When in colder weather our cabin always remained chilly even with the thermostat turned up.
