We booked this cruise because the price was amazing for a cabin with a balcony, we had never been to the Southern Caribbean before and we had never sailed on the Jewel. We had a great time; we loved having only one sea day and a port every other day. The cabin was great and service overall was very good.
We only ate in the dining room 3 times because we like to take advantage of the specialty restaurants and ALWAYS book the Chef's Table which is AMAZING and worth every penny. Only one night was not good in the dining room. We usually do My Time Dining and we made a reservation for 8pm, but one night they gave us a different server and it was extremely slow. We arrived at 8 and by 9:30 we had not had our dessert yet so we had to leave because we wanted to get seats to see Matt Yee's Adult Sing Along Show in the Schooner Bar. I also highly recommend if Matt is performing on any of the ships that you attend. We went almost every night and laughed, sang, danced and had a great time. Keep in mind it is adult only and if you are easily offended, that is not the show for you.
We took 2 shore excursions: The Beach and Lobster Lunch in Antigua was very good and they grilled the lobster right on the catamaran and it was delicious. The second excursion was in St. Lucia to the Pitons and it was just ok. The boarding process at the port isn't well organized and we had to wait about an hour before we were on board the catamaran. The ride to and from the Pitons was about an hour and very enjoyable. When we got there, the area to snorkel was a small, roped off area that had passengers from other boats in it and looked a bit crowded. We ended up not getting off the catamaran. Drinks and snacks were served on the sail back and was enjoyable.
Cabin was great and in the perfect location. We were right off stairs midship. Cabin service was also excellent!
We only walked around outside the port; nice shopping area.
Nice port and shopping area.
This was my least favorite port. We took a taxi downtown and there wasn't much there.
