I chose this cruise as I usually love Princess and have reached Elite Status so wanted to enjoy my perks. I also love cruising in cooler climates so Tasmania is perfect. I hadn't experienced Golden before, my last 3 were on Sun and Diamond, and prefer the larger ships.
They might have lost me!
I feel that Princess really need to lift their game in Australia, such a deterioration in the service, activities and food over the last 4 years. In fact I have been served the same menus at least the last 4 cruises with smaller portions and more rushed service every time.
Fantastically comfortable bed, very plush. Asked for firm pillows which were brilliant. Cushioned balcony chairs would be nice. Received upgraded amenities kit with extra touches like eye mask and loofah mit. Haven't been a fan of the big, refillable bottles in the shower as 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner doesn't do either job properly.
Terrific cabin service. Good quality linen.
Would like stronger, cooler air con but on this cruise could just leave the balcony door open.
Remember this is a US ship with US plugs so bring adaptors or ask for them.
Glorious town, lovely climate and people, terrific restaurants. Enjoyed the Botancial Gardens and MONA Gallery, but check which days this is closed. Haven't yet experienced the fabulous Salmanaca Markets.
Stunning destination. Did a food and wine tour which was let done by the elderly, cranky tour guide. Others who did the same tour with a different guide, the owner of the company, had a much better time. It was very rushed.
