Coral Princess Cruise Review by silvertreveller
- Sail Date: February 2018
- Destination: Panama Canal & Central America
- Cabin Type: Premium Balcony
Buffet in the Horizon was limited, apart from the omelettes at breakfast resulted in having corn flakes with fruit - hardly top notch dining ! There were banana's at the buffet that after 5 days or so were "black" and they stayed on display for the whole cruise. Poor ! especially when we docked in Puerto Rico - the banana capital of the world - surely someone could have nipped ashore and bought a box of bananas!
The only saving grace were the ships staff, from steward(ess) to bar/entertainment who were all magnificent. Cabin kept spotless.
5 ports in 15 days - and early departures. Aruba at 12.30 and last tender at San Juan at 3.30 - then had to wait till 7.00 pm before ship departed ! a more reasonable 5.00 last tender would have been reasonable (or saving $$ on fuel !)
Princess seem to be "cutting back" on many small items, eg end dates on coffee cards, have to ask for shower cap from steward, no longer provide shower gel, conditioner, lotion in Spa containers - the big bottle dispenser shower gel is terrible - sourced from Poundland ?
Shore Excursions - took 2, Cartagena and Costa Rica - the "scenic train and boat ride" at $100 pp expensive and train not very scenic - back yards of razor wire infested slums.
Overall disappointed - ums up by fact wife lost 6lbs 1 not very good advert ! Come back new - yes indeed

Cartagena (Colombia)Took a Princess tour - interesting Spainish colonial city - Sir Francis Drake sacked it in the 1550's ! (Too ) Many street vendors who were a constant pain - having to turn the same one away several times in 15 mintues ! even saw an attempted mobile phone theft from inside the catheral - beware pick pockets !View All 719 Cartagena (Colombia) Cruise Port Reviews

River Cruise & Scarlet Macaw SanctuaryNew a/c tour bus - however tour gide refused to let passengers use toilet ! as coach full of people aged 50+ not helpful - had to use "local" one instead. Rickety old train passing shanty type dwellings, outside loo's (minus doors)View All 19 River Cruise & Scarlet Macaw Sanctuary Reviews
San Juan del SurTook a private tour to Granada and trip on lake - Problem was took 2 hours to get there as only 2 lane road so little opportunity to overtake. As a 3.30 pm last tender wanted to leave plenty of time for return journey. Needless as waited 1 hour in sun for tender (think one broke down), then ship departed at 19.00 due to another delay somewhere. A 5.00 last tender would have been better.View All 90 San Juan del Sur Cruise Port Reviews
