We booked the 7 day cruise on Priceline, 1 month before the actual cruise. We were having mixed feelings on how it would be and whether traveling with a 3 year old will be good or not since the reviews we read were either excellent or not so great. Nevertheless, our personal experience proved that if you dont have very high expectations and enjoy whatever is offered for the price you pay, then you are bound to have an excellent trip. We got an ocean view room on Deck 5.

Food: This was our biggest worry as we are strict vegetarians and also have some special dietary needs. We informed this to a couple of Maitre Ds in Garden Cafe and Summer Palace and they were happy to cater to it by informing it to the chef. We had specially prepared meals delivered to our table every night since we placed a standing order. In the mornings, we had plenty of choices which were vegetarian and had a very sumptuous breakfast. We carried some snacks that we got from our home in our backpack to satisfy the cravings during lunch time when we were at ports. That pretty much got us through during lunch times. For dinner, since we already made the special order, the wait times were about 10-15 minutes. Garden Cafe had food available almost through out the day and if they were closed, food was served at the Great Outdoors. It was convenient to get ice creams (whenever our son wanted) and other delicious fruit soups during meal times. The waiters were very helpful, courteous and always with a smile and were able to get our orders on time. Many of them loved to talk with us and share their anecdotes from their countries. We have to keep in mind that they are also human beings who are working 10 hrs a day for all days of the week leaving behind their family etc. So, we loved to interact with them and took pictures with them.

Meet and Greet: Meet and Greet with the Cruise critic members on Day 2 at Indigo Room was excellent and we got lots of good tips from other cruisers. The best thing was that we recognized each other wherever we went and it made it a lot more easier to ask/find out more info on what to do, where to go etc.

The room was very clean and well maintained. The house keepers promptly emptied all the items from the fridge when we asked them to and cleaned the room every time we left the room. They also had towel animals on some days and our son enjoyed playing with them. The bathrooms were very well laid out and had great fixtures. They even had a cloth's line for hanging wet clothes in the bathroom and we were pretty impressed with that. The room was well furnished with excellent cabinetry for all our things and every bit of the 160 sf cabin was well utilized.
