We chose this cruise line because we met friends from another country whom we met on our first RCC cruise to Alaska 10 years ago. It's an easy way to connect with them. We have cruised with RCC 3 times. If our friends had not been diamond members, we would not have chosen RCC this time. Last year, all 4 of us had a very bad experience. But this year was very enjoyable so we would consider RCC again. I filled in the longer survey though was not able to accurately complete the shore excursion section. The locations listed in this portion were not correct & there was no space for input so I left it mostly incomplete. We first stopped in St.Kitts & experienced the sail & rail. It was okay. We don't get to the ocean very often & would have preferred hearing the ocean during the sailing rather than the banging loud music. The rail tour was very informative. The guide was excellent though sometimes we could have enjoyed less talking. Impressively, she spoke without a note for the better part of 2 hours. Sometimes, less talking is more! Drinks were great but on an excursion that is most of the day, there needs to be food included or some time allocated to go somewhere to purchase lunch. We were starving! St. Maarten's bus tour of both the French & Dutch parts of the island was okay but again, not enough time to get lunch & shop. Shopping stops were not impressive. Our guide was a lovely informative fella. Puerto Rico's cave & window tour was excellent! The history & traditions of Labadee was well worth experiencing. Note: if a waiver can determine whether or not one goes on certain excursions, & with all of the emails that are sent prior taking the cruise, I do not understand why passengers are called to the sea desk the day before an excursion to determine fitness for participation & asked to contact their doctor by email for permission to partake because of certain answers given on the waiver (& it's highly unlikely to reach a doctor by email for test results let alone permission to go on a kayaking trip, especially upon such short notice!). I'm all for safety, but this could have been done when there was still time to select another quality excursion vs being stuck with something that's merely available. Perhaps RCC could send out fewer emails about the bar package in favour of more relevant emails which ensure an excellent holiday. It was very disappointing to re-select an excursion at the last minute, then to have weather cancel the 2nd selection, then to end up with something that was just okay.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E3

Always kept in excellent condition. Attendant was very respectful of our timing when we wanted to stay in & rest. Cared for room on our schedule. Beds are very uncomfortable - had a backache every day.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Next time. I'd fly to Miami, spend a few days in Key West, then connect with a cruise in Fort Lauderdale. The Everglades are best seen from Miami end. Fort Lauderdale is not very interesting.
