We did some research and chose Windstar over Paul Gauguin Cruises for our visit to Tahiti and French Polynesia. We included the flights from LAX, hotels, and transfers.

The cruise was excellent and exceeded our expectations. First, I am glad we did a cruise rather than flying into Papeete and then visiting an island or two. Many tourists only go to Tahiti and an island like Moorea or Bora Bora. This cruise allowed us to visit multiple islands and motus and I felt like we got a better feel for French Polynesia as a result.

The weather was great. The staff were excellent. The service was very good. The other guests were all enjoyable. The excursions and activities were all fun ... especially the AquaSafari in Bora Bora. Though some of the excursions could be purchased directly from the vendors via Viator for significantly less. The food was terrific, especially Candles. Our cabin was small but had lots of storage and was comfortable. Our cabin attendant, Dedi, was the best! And the ship was the perfect size for us ... small, but with lots of space to hang out with others or to have some quiet space.

Cabin A

All the cabins are nearly identical. Ours was on the 2nd level and we enjoyed it.
