Seven Seas Explorer Cruise Review by draindoctors
- Sail Date: February 2018
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Penthouse Suite
The ship itself is absolutely beautiful. The decor, the bathrooms, cabins, and dining rooms are superbly decorated.
The speciality restaurants are glamorous and the food was what we would have expected. Great choices, wonderfully presented, and delicious.
The only complaint here is that the Prime 7 and indeed all of them are difficult to get a booking. We had a Penthouse suite but even so we only managed to get in there once
Our complaint was the Compass Rose.
Not only was the food not up to standard but on the three occasions we ate in there, the service was poor and the food on each occasion was either cold or only lukewarm
We shared a table on four occasions, all the people we shared with were delightful. On two occasions we actually all complained about the food and service to the staff,
The last night of the cruise was exceptionally poor. The food took ages to come, our dining companions actually asked if the kitchen had lost our order. When my husband's steak came, it was only lukewarm and whilst waiting for his sauce to be brought, which seemed to be an afterthought, the steal went cold.
While some of the staff are amazing, many in the Compass Rose seem to have a problem with the English language. Many seem very new so it's probably a training issue, and hopefully, they will improve.
