I flew through Frankfurt to reach Barcelona and the transfer from the airport to the ship was well organized and timely. I travel alone so I concerned about feeling safe and I did, as the representatives met me as I departed the baggage and customs area. I arrived at the ship and the wait was not long to check in, maybe about 30-45 minutes. I boarded with excitement as I was sailing away on this cruise to Egypt along with other destinations and Africa would be my final continent to visit.

I boarded the ship and was truly impressed by the beauty! The solarium that was open almost to the top of the ship was gorgeous! The ship was already decorated for Christmas since this was the cruise before Christmas and I was quite impressed with the feel. I walked into a cabin that was roomier than the ones on the ship I am used to. I always get a balcony because I need to have access to the outside and love to take pictures of sunset and sunrises and approaching ports from my own room. So I was the right one to compare this room and I liked the sitting area it included.

UNFORTUNATELY, the charms of the ship stopped there. My surprises the rest of the time were not so pleasant. First the life boat drill, we were told to go to our muster stations. On the other cruise lines the areas are indoors and when I got to my destination it was outside and quite cold. No one had ever stated that it would be outside and I was unprepared for the weather. Since I had just recovered from a sinus infection and bronchitis I needed to go back in and get a coat and socks on. I had to fight with people all along the way to get back to my cabin for appropriate clothing. Somehow people should be informed that it will be outdoors.
