Cabin: Mini-Suite with Balcony

My mom and I are veteran cruisers, and this year we chose to try Norwegian for the first time because it seemed the best option out of Tampa. We were warned that Norwegian is much more casual than what we were accustomed to on Holland America and Princess. Casual is fine, and on a seven-day cruise we wouldn’t miss the formal nights. But, there is a difference between casual and sloppy, and unfortunately, Norwegian Dawn leans heavily towards sloppy.

Security

Security seems far looser than other lines. When I triggered the metal detector, the security personnel took my word for it that I had knee implants. No additional scanning was required, I was just waved through.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MX

This mini-suite was a good size for the two of us. The beds were comfortable, and the sofa was covered in a microfiber fabric that is comfortable, especially in the tropics. The balcony was a good size. The little cubby for the toilet was kind of strange, but the bathroom was a generous size.
