We had been on the Millenium years ago, and were very pleased with its current look. We actually did a “back to back” with the Sapphire Princess, so it was interesting to compare the two cruises. We embarked in Singapore. Even though the ship did not leave Singapore until 7:30P.M., we were suppose to embark by 3:00P.M. Once you get on the ship in Singapore, you cannot get off. So, while we liked Singapore, it was not our favorite embarkation port. It was the same for Princess, so it is not the cruise lines requirement, but Singapore’s. I thought the Millennium looked brighter and newer than the Sapphire, despite being an older ship. We were spoiled having Club Class dining on the Sapphire, so it took us a day or two in the dining room to get comfortable. We had anytime dining and sat at Asep and Rolan’s table most nights. We did not eat any meals in the specialty restaurants. Asep and Rolan were great and worked very hard to make our dining experience the best. We felt Sapphire had a better selection of entree’s, but overall, we were pleased and gained weight

Cabin 2B

We were very pleased with our stateroom. It was on the bump out, so we had an oversized balcony. If I had one wish, it would be for more hangers in the closet.

Port Reviews

Singapore

It was a long process to embark in Singapore, and once you went through their immigration, you could not get off the ship. We were in Singapore during Chinese New Year, so we went to Chinatown. We had an extra day in Singapore, and we went to Gardens by the Bay. We enjoyed their domes, the cloud/rainforest one more than the flower dome. If you go, take a jacket as it is quite cool inside the domes.

Koh Samui

We are not beach people - our plan was to just wander around, which is what we did. The ship docks very close to downtown.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

The port for Bangkok is Laem Chabang, so we were docked overnight. We had spent several days in Bangkok before the cruise, so we did not go back. We had a hard time finding something to do for the two days we were here. However, on the first day, we took a taxi to Silver Lake Winery. It was not easy to find a taxi to take us there because they all wanted you to do a tour. We did find a taxi however, and enjoyed the winery tour and even bought a bottle of wine. It was not confiscated, but we were saving it for Hong Kong anyway. On day 2 we had an independent tour to Pattaya with Oriental Escape. We were happy with their services.

Da Nang

We had a private tour arranged by someone else. We visited Marble Mountain and other sights near Danang. We also visited a charming little town Hoi An.

Hanoi

We joined a private tour which was a boat ride on Halong Bay. It was enjoyable enoug, but it was a very foggy day, so the sights were obstructed. If I were there again, I would go into Hanoi instead.
