Eurodam is larger than other HAL ships, but you don't notice this until sea days when you are looking for a deck chair near a pool. One pool for families is extremely overcrowded since HAL decided to build private cabanas along one entire window wall. This forces the new over sized deck chairs to be practically on top of each other. Deck 10 also has a private cabana area that is restricted to those renters only. More ways to wring additional money from passengers. Tamarind restaurant is outstanding Asian food and fantastic service. Extra charge Pinnacle Grill restaurant still has great food, too. Flexible choice dining has kinks to be worked out. You must call for a reservation if you wish to eat at a certain time which necessary with a family of 8. Or you have to wait for a table. Also if you make a reservation for one dining area, you cannot have other family members eat elsewhere and expect to get a reservation. Two of our family had a reservation at extra charge restaurant and the remaining family members found out that their regular dining room reservation had been cancelled when they showed up for dinner. So they had to eat at the informal Lido buffet that night. Food in dining room is very good, but when waiters just can't move fast enough to deliver food at the speed of light. Eating in dining-room takes 2 hours for 8 people. We had a 1 year old and it was way too taxing for her to last this long for a meal. Be sure to request port a crib early in your booking. Also if you wish a baby sitter, you must fill out a form at front office and do this well in advance of when you want a sitter. We didn't get one for Christmas Eve because we didn't know we had to ask earlier. Internet service is slow and costly. Computer classes taught were good and there were multiple topics offered, but guy teaching them was condescending. Entertainment is fair--typical magician, comedian, 2 singers, and predictable stage shows. Still HAL provides a good value for your money. Would easily recommend to other persons.

Cabin Review

We had 3 people in one cabin on upper verandah deck (balcony 6045). It is cramped, but do-able. Showering, changing, and dressing were a tight squeeze. Overall that particular would be great for 2. Sofa bed is short. Queen sized bed is very comfortable. Cabin stewards are outstanding. Small reading lights can be used as a night light. Not many TV channels. Balcony has 1 upright chair, tiny table, 1 ottoman and 1 wicker lounge chair.
