I have sailed on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines 3 Different times on 2 Ships. The Freedom of the Seas and The Mariner of the Seas. We loved them both. We thought The Oasis of the Seas would be even better ! WRONG, it was worse, much worse. Being a Gold Member didn't help the 2-1/2 hour wait in line to board, so much for Priority Check In. The very first thing we noticed was the overcrowded elevators. Many times we would have to wait for another elevator, they were packed with people. It didn't take long to figure out why we were always waiting in line. TOO many people for the ship's size! Mariner of the Seas had 16 elevators with a capacity of 3807 people. The Oasis has 24 elevators with 6680 capacity of people. WOW that is crowded. We never made reservations for the shows on any other cruise ship, but you have to on the OASIS. The Main Theater on the Mariner had 1348 seats, and the Oasis had 1380. No wonder we couldn't see all the shows. By the 2nd day when we found out we had to make reservations, well it was too late, we were told we would have to placed on standby for the shows, thus you don't see them all. The library was the smallest I have ever seen, plus there were hardly any books. The Windjammer Buffet, was so crowded it was a state of frenzy, which many times turned into yet another waiting line. If you wanted a seat around the pool area you better decide by 9AM or they are gone for the rest of the day. For a ship that is only 175 feet longer the size to capacity ratio is Way Off. Crowds and lines, not an atmosphere of relaxing but frenzy. After the 2nd day my wife and I knew we made a mistake. The dining, well the pastries had NO taste, however they looked good. Thats enough about the Oasis.
