There were many reasons we were not happy with our cruise. The first one being when we were called off the ship for our luggage to be opened. My husband had a small kit of electrical tape, some sewing needles, a travel screwdriver, a crescent wrench and some other small items he ALWAYS carries with him. We had just come through the airport with these items. The lady that was with security and made him open his suitcase was very rude. There was another security agent trying to help and told us that they would store the items for us until we got back and the other lady said that there was 'no room to store tools'. So in this case we had to throw all of these items out. That was the start to a very unsatisfying experience with Carnival.

There were many other reasons we will probably not sail with Carnival again. The staff that did interact with us was not very friendly. The wait time on the elevators that were working, was horrible. Many of them were not working. We often stood at the bar for more than 5 minutes waiting to be waited on. A few times we finally gave up and walked away. We ordered room service almost every morning and sometimes never received it. One night at dinner, we had planned our time to go see the show afterwards. It took us an hour and 45 minutes to get through dinner. The lag time between the courses was horrible. Our room on the 7th deck, made me wonder what part of the ship was below us. Every morning I could smell eggs cooking and at night between 5 and 9 you could not stand to be in the room due to the overwhelming smell of a charbroiler as if the steaks were being cooked right in our room. We were also so excited that this ship had a barbcue joint, only to be let down when we found out it was only open 2 hours a day for the days you were at sea only.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

The cabin was clean and in order, however it was as if we were right above the kitchen or something. Every morning you could smell eggs cooking and during dinner hours the strong smell of a charbroiler made your eyes water and we could not stand to be in our room.

New Orleans

We had a great time in New Orleans despite the 30 degree weather.
