Cabin: Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

We chose Oasis because we wanted to see "the really big ship." We sailed with my parents who had only ever been on Disney cruises before this one and they really enjoyed RC too.

Embarkation was awful. We stood in a massive line outside for over an hour before we even got into the main building just to wait another 30 minutes or so. This is our major area of disappointment that I hope RC improves. Stagger the check-in times like DCL does to help with the long wait times.

The ship itself did not disappoint. Loved the neighborhoods and flow of the ship. It didn't feel too big even though it's huge. My mom has a bad knee but she had no trouble getting around. Sometimes the wait for the elevators was too long for comfort, but with a ship this size we kind of expected that.

Cabin Review

Boardwalk View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin B2

Our cabin was wonderful. Cabin 8695 which was a balcony cabin on deck 8 overlooking the Boardwalk. We were the first boardwalk balcony cabin in our hallway (closest to the elevator/farthest from the Aquatheater). I was worried about being on the lowest Boardwalk deck and being so far back from the theater that we might not be able to see the ocean but we could. It was nice to be able to wake up each morning and check the weather then look out the back of the ship to see the water. Not to mention our cabin offered great people watching. A bonus is our bed was by the door so we had more room to access our closet and it made the cabin feel more spacious.

INSIDER TIP: My parents were almost directly across the boardwalk from us in 8293, so we'd wave to each other from our balconies. Our meet up spot was in front of Dazzles. I will say, I liked their room better because it was the exact same set up (bed by the door) nice view etc, BUT their cabin entrance door was by itself in the main hallway vs side by side with another cabin like ours. Our neighbors' door would slam several times early each morning, so I could appreciate how NOT having a door 6 inches away from ours would have been much quieter.

If you're looking for a Boardwalk balcony close to the elevator and the best chance of not hearing your neighbors, go for cabin 8293 instead.

Port Reviews

Falmouth

Took a cab to Mystic Mountain on our own. Loved the port area of Falmouth. Would definitely return to this port.
