We chose this cruise primarily because of the boat’s features. The boat was fantastic. Loads of activities like ziplining and “surfing”. There were also lots of group activities.
We’ve been to Orlando several times, so we embarked soon after our arrival in Orlando.
The lines were long, but moved fairly quickly. Printing out your boarding pass saves loads of time. Our luggage arrived to are room pretty quickly considering the more than 6,000 guests boarding in a fairly small window of time.
Please be vigilant about the checking in and out of pool towels. We were charged $100 for towels that weren’t returned, though we returned religiously.
Our cabin was a nice balcony room. It was much smaller than our cabin on Celebrity. Our cabin steward, Jacqueline was wonderful. I just loved the towel animals and her attention to our preferences.
Depending on the menu, we split our time between the American Icon and Windjammer. We were a little peeved that an 18% gratuity is added automatically to the specialty restaurants, so we skipped them. I’d like to tip based on the service received. Our service was good (not great) in both places. It’s funny how our servers became more attentive on the last night. Unlike some, server Adrian, in Windjammer, gave consistently good service starting Day 1.
The variety and quality of the entertainment was the best of any cruise we’ve taken. “Come Fly with Me” and “Oasis of Dreams” were amazing shows. Both are must see shows. The headliner Gaucho was funny and unique.
I found out about the app on the last night. It would’ve been helpful, especially since it lists the daily activities, places and times. I don’t recall anyone talking about it.
We disembarked early. It was unbelievably fast. We got in line about 6:20a with about 300 folks in front of us. The lines opened at 6:35a instead of the listed 6:45a. We were off the boat and through customs by 7:00a.
A little on the small side. It had more electrical outlets than expected.
If you leave the port shopping, you get a not so pretty view of Jamaica.
Didn’t stop because of weather.
We’ve “done” Orlando several times, so an excursion was unnecessary. If you have t been, the Kennedy Space and Rocket Center is a must see.
It rained horribly, so and there was a ferry explosion earlier in the week that had the captain cancel all excursions that needed ferry services. Cozumel, by itself, was just okay. Note: they had the most fair taxi service I’ve ever experienced.
