We enjoyed our third cruise with the Holland America Line. The embarkation has been streamlined greatly and we were on the ship in record time. We did, however, ensure we were at the port early. We really enjoyed the food. It was fresh and delicious and the variety was splendid. The dining room excelled as usual. The food arrived for our table of 8, quickly and beautifully presented. We tried the Tamarind and it was spectacular!!
The entertainment aboard this ship seemed not quite as good as usual and there was only one crew show. Unfortunately it was at 11 pm so it was very poorly attended. We were on the Eurodam's sister ship the Nieuw Amsterdam two years ago and not only was the entertainment much better, there were two crew shows which took place in the afternoon. We were told this is up the cruise director's discretion.
The ship was absolutely beautiful and our cabin stewards were first rate.
Beautifully appointed cabin. Very efficiently organized. Clean, comfortable and the balcony was fabulous!
Port Everglades is a beautiful port to sail away from. The views of the city as it turns from high rises to beach to ocean is fabulous
Book a shore excursion, the vendors are very hungry and assertive. The port is beautiful but you must get away from it to experience the beauty of this island paradise.
This port of call is exceptional in that it gives on the ground instruction into the city, literally you follow the blue and white squares to be beautiful city! Very clean, lots of shopping and the vendors aren't super aggressive. Expensive though! We were shocked at the $7. US small bottle of beer. But very interesting city and super food to be had!
Very nice port. But other than that, we went to Megan's beach via taxi. Nice beach but not worth the total cost to get there, stay there and eat and drink there. Probably should have done a shore excursion
