This trip was a combination of land and river in Vietnam and Cambodia. The overall organization was done by Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours. The hotels in Saigon and Siem Reap were outstanding (5 star). The included events were fantastic in every location with Scenic only selecting the top seats, food, services. We were assigned to a tour group of 24 and had the most outstanding guide (Dara) we have ever had in 40 cruises. He made the entire trip from day 1 to day 13 a rating of 12 on a 10 rate scale. He was concerned about individuals and the group on a daily basis. His knowledge and language skills were phenomenal and amazing. He literally cared about each and every individual. The ship (Spirit) is new (Jan 2016) and is beautiful. Only two items were not rated 10: The food at dinner time could be improved in choice and taste; Second, the last night on board dinner was a miss (4 rating). The food was limited mostly to sea food and special dietary needs were ignored and the service especially on this night was very slow and disorganized. In contrast, the last night on the land portion in Siem Reap was so great, we will not ever be able to match it anywhere in the world. The dinner evening at the Kraven Temple was unbelievable and would take thousands of words to describe. Scenic went out of their way and hit home runs every minute of the night. Finally, Scenic's consummate concern and desire to support local organizations through sponsorship and funding is not only admirable, it speaks very highly of the company leadership and tour organizers. We would use this company in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos on any tour, cruise or event without exception or reservation. If only they could clone Dara, they would have the best overall company in the world!
