Silver Wind Cruise Review by gkini
- Sail Date: February 2018
- Destination: Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Royal Suite 1
We did not cruise the departure city before the cruise, but did do it after the cruise on a complimentary tour provided by the Cruise line as our flight departed late in the day. As in all other previous cruises, This Cruise Line does not merely dump you at the Airport when you get off the ship if you have a late in the day flight out, but will arrange for something nice to spend your time till your flight leaves if it departs after 2 pm.
The ship has been recently refurbished to a more contemporary decor, but I preferred the old luxury look with stained Oak & Mahogany wood finishes and Burgundy drapes and carpets compared to the present paint, chrome and patterned carpets they have now.
The food as always was excellent with many choices that included Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster, Dutch Veal, New Zealand Lamb and Chateaux Briand etc. Free tours at each port, a generous $ 1500 ship Board Credit also was included. Ports of call were great, and service at all levels in the ship and ports was impeccable.
We had a minor complaint about the anchor motor noise each morning when we docked, but I cannot blame the cruise line for this, as all ships have to have an anchor and the weight and the motor that goes with it cannot be expected to be silent.
Would definitely go again with this Cruise line and highly recommend them without any reservation to any one willing to spend a little more than other cruise lines for the luxury experience - Ganesh Kini
