Cabin: The Haven Spa Suite with Balcony

I chose this cruise because I had never been to Mexico before and wanted to visit our neighbor to the south - what a great trip. I do think that booking a Haven Spa Suite made a big difference. I just loved the easy embarkation and disembarkation as well as having a very attentive concierge (Virginia) and butler (Gary) as well as a friendly and super attentive room steward, Bradley. These folks helped make this the best cruise ever for me.

We took a shuttle from our hotel in Miami to the ship and were there around 11:30 am. After waiting in the very long security line, we entered the Haven check in room on the left and were completely checked into the cruise about 5 minutes later. We waited for about 5-10 minutes more in comfy chairs until we were escorted on to the ship with other Haven cruisers. Such an easy embarkation!

We were in room 14140, a Haven Spa Suite. Great room, close enough to the elevators and stairs so that we could easily walk up one floor to the thermal spa and fitness center or two floors up to the Haven bar and pool area.

Cabin Review

The Haven Spa Suite with Balcony

Cabin H9

This was my first time in a Haven Spa Suite and I loved it - the bed was king size and super comfortable. The shower was roomy and the bathroom was big enough for two people to brush their teeth at the same time. The location was close enough to the forward elevators that I never felt like I was walking for miles before coming to my room. The room was clean, everything worked well, and it was quiet. I would highly recommend this room type and this room in particular. My only complaint was that this room had a chaise lounge-type sofa; I would have preferred a table and chairs in place of the large tub.

Port Reviews

Miami

Very easy embarkation at the Port of Miami, as well as easy disembarkation. There are plenty of taxis lined up to take folks where they need to go. My husband and I had reserved a rental car at the Miami Airport to spend a few days in FL after our cruise so we waited outside the port and picked up a "Rental Center" free bus to take us to the airport's rental center at the end of the cruise.

Harvest Caye

OMG - AMAZING! We rented a beach cabana (along with another couple) at Harvest Caye and it was worth every penny. Not only do you have access to their private beach but you have chaise lounges at the cabana and on the beach as well as an air-conditioned area within the cabana for when it gets hot and you just need to get out of the heat for a while. Plus you can call your concierge for a golf cart ride to the pool or around the island. The pool area was very crowded - no lounge chairs available at all - and pool cabanas were no more than a small tent over some lounge chairs. Glad we picked the beach cabana rather than the pool cabana!
