We just got off of the Breeze. This was our tenth Cruise and fifth on Carnival. Our last Carnival Cruise was on the Magic which is a sister ship of the Breeze. Our last trip on Carnival was four years ago and little things have change. Embarkation was fast and simple, there isn't any staging at the port building. You show them your documents and away you go. Here is what I noticed about the Breeze. The decks aft had a slight smell of sewage. The mini fridge in our cabin wasn't stocked, the dining room wait staff while friendly didn't bother to get to know our names, the food in the main dining room was just ok, the deserts weren't tasty and the entertainment was lack luster. It just seemed like if you wanted a great meal you have to upgrade and go to one of the pay as you go restaurants. The pizza has changed and I found the old pizza was better,

We stayed in a Cove Balcony Cabin. This is the second time and I just love the cabin. They are located on deck two very close to the water line and I love to stand there and watch the sea roll by. I also noticed that our steward asked us did we want the cabin cleaned morning and after or just once a day. This was also different.

This trips ports of call were Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Cozumel. I've been to all three ports of call before but this time it was very interesting. The State Department, Canada and the UK have issued travel advisories warning people to stay on there resorts and to travel in groups. Because of this we and many of our fellow passengers stayed aboard the ship. The next stop was Grand Cayman I love the island but we dropped anchor with five other ships and the shopping area was very crowed because of this. Last stop was Cozumel. As we approached the docks, the Captain came on and said the State Department has banned state employees from using the ferry system and Carnival was cancelling all excursions to the mainland. I found this odd because they didn't cancel anything in Jamaica so my defense systems went into high gear. I thought either a terrorist attack warning was found about the ferrys, or Cartel violence or ferry owner infighting had occurred. I was able to make contact stateside with a USCG source I have, who found out that on 2/27 a bomb had exploded injuring Americans on a ferry and unexploded bombs were found on another on 3/1. So now I'm in a heighten sense of security and ready to repel boarders. I figured the Mexicans would have increased security on the docks and around the ships and island. Well the Mexican Government tried to down play the explosion as an engine problem and did nothing to increase security for the estimated 12,000 people who were visiting. It was business as usual in Mexico.

Cabin 8F

I love the Cove Balcony. I like being close to the water. The mattresses need to be exchanged. I found them very hard.

We live 79 miles from the island so its a local trip for us.
