Flew into MIA the day before the cruise and stayed at the Holiday Inn Miami International Airport. Reason we picked this hotel is that they have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and a free shuttle from the hotel to the port of Miami. Saved us some money in taxi fare. The hotel is old and looks it. However, for a pre-cruise stay, it is great. It has a snack bar which is open late into the night which is great when you arrive on a late flight.
Hotel uses their own shuttle to move you to the dock. We arrived the ship at noon and were on board in 15 minutes. As soon as we boarded, our rooms were ready and the suitcases arrived by 1:30. The Navigator is a great ship and is in very good condition. The only minor room problem we had the entire cruise was that the TV system that shows your account did not work for the first 2 days.
We did all the usual activities (ice skating, rock climbing, golf, etc) and found the facilities to be in great shape. The only thing missing was a pool slide which our daughter would have loved.
Great cabin at the rear of the hump. Was able to watch the Harbor Pilot jump from the Navigator, to his boat, after leaving the Port of Miami.
