Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

We are a retired couple and this was our 15th cruise and our first on NCL Freestyle ship. I make that distinction because our first cruise was on the S.S. Norway when the company was Norwegian Caribbean Line.

We chose this cruise because we had already planned to be visiting family in Venice Beach which was close to the port of Tampa.

Embarkation was fairly smooth since we had driven down and were able to park across the street from the port. We arrived at 11AM and were on the ship by 11:45.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Our cabin 9636 was very conveniently located next to the staircases/elevators and was 3 decks up or down from most of the activities. Unfortunately, NCL had small french balconies in between the elevators that looked out over the Atrium. This funneled the sound from musicians into the hallway and into the cabin. This was only a problem until 10:45 when all the music ended. Our cabin had some issues with the drain, closet and the partition between the balcony. They were able to fix all except the partition which had a loose hinge which rattled all night with the wind. This noise disrupted our sleep the first night. I was able to make a temporary fix by shoving a wedge of folded paper around the partition frame which stopped the rattling. I left it in when we debarked, but I don't know if they left it in. There were many cosmetic issues in the cabin. The cabin needed attention.
