We have been on the Gem 7 times previously, and were never disappointed. The ship is very well kept, the cabin is adequate, the food was above average, the service was spectacular, The only reason I don't give an overall excellent is that we missed one port due to a winter storm in the Atlantic that required the Captain to decide to take an extra sea day to get home safely. No gripe there where safety is concerned, and it's certainly not Norwegian's fault that there was a storm/ The provided live entertainment was enjoyable, especially Aerial the pianist in the atrium. The theater shows were very good and professional. My only complaints would be the cabin television programming and slowness and high price of internet. It would be nice to have a daily movie, that is sort of current. The bar service was great, and the drink package provided is a very nice touch. I hope they do not change that bonus. Norwegian out of New York is just too convenient not to do it. We're already booked on another, and probably will book one prior to that because next January is pretty far away. I recommend it highly if you like cruising. It's a wonderful vacation, and getaway from cold weather.
