This was our 12 or 13th cruise. We decided to go on a shorter 5 day cruise this time. For us it was the perfect amount of time. Embarking was rough. We really don’t expect much but it would have been nice to have our Latitudes level recognized so we could have been on the ship about an hour sooner. No signage or direction provided. Once we were on it went much better and our luggage arrived outside our door much sooner than expected. We did get frustrated with the deck chair situation on the 13th deck. 15 minutes after we left NOLA they were stacking them up, we were literally told to get off the chairs. Every day they were stacked up from 4:30 to 5:00. We love watching sunsets in a quite location and ended up standing to do so each evening. Not very relaxing after a busy port day. The entertainment was good. The production crew performed once. The acrobatics/dance by the engaged couple was fantastic! The captain was relaxed and very friendly. All staff was friendly and seemed to be very happy. The management must be good, it shows in the staff. We got off the ship in both Cozumel and Costa Maya. We took a taxi to a beach each day, we like quiet a beach. I can’t comment on the dining rooms as we are vegetarians and the buffet provides better options for us. That is not a complaint, to us it’s a plus with NCL. We found the ship to be immaculate. We went to the bridge observation room four times. We got back to NOLA later than expected. Much later than our prior NOLA cruises. Not sure why we were late but just rolled with it as best as we could. We had a 12 hour drive to complete to get home. We did self disembark and again came to the conclusion that some people just shouldn’t try to do that. That is not anything NCL can control. All in all we had a really great cruise and look forward to experiencing NCL again. We needed a relaxing break from jobs etc and the cruise was perfect for us.
