I had cruised on Oasis in 2011 with over 20 friends and family members. I decided it was time to cruise on her again and we like the eastern Caribbean itinerary. Although we knew Puerto Rico and St. Maarten were hit hard during last hurricane season, we wanted to go back to show support. We took an island drive shore excursion so we could see how both sides of the island are recovering. The tour guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

We enjoyed the beach day in a Labadee. Royal has done a great job of improving the destination since we started going there about 15 years ago. They should consider extending Voom to the island since it is their private destination. Shouldn’t be too hard to add that amenity. Voom is extremely expensive on the ship so having it available that extra day would be nice.

The Oasis is a fabulous ship. Central Park is our favorite spot to hang out after dinner and listen to music. The week flew by because there was so much to see and do on the ship. The service personnel were friendly and dedicated to keeping passengers happy. Royal could do a better job of managing the smoke in the casino. I’m not a gambler but the smoke permeated the elevator area outside the casino. When I found I needed to walk through the casino for some reason, I couldn’t hold my breath long enough to get through to the other side.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

The cabin was clean and adequate for the week. I prefer the flipped arrangement but this one had the bed up against the closet. That makes for tight quarters when 2 people are trying to get ready for dinner. I like that the Oasis has additional electrical outlets on the desk/vanity. We really didn’t spend a lot of time in the cabin since there was so much to do around the ship. Our cabin steward, Karen, was great! She made sure everything was perfect.
