Sail Date: Feb 2018

We chose this cruise because my birthdays in February and I like to be somewhere warmer when I celebrate my birthday haha. Embarkation and Disembarkation went really smoothly. The ship is quite comfortable, but all the bars are on the same level. I think this could be because this ship has been 'extended' The entertainment shows were better than the ones on the TUI Celebration. The a la carte restaurants, which you have to pay extra for, were very nice, and the meals in the Orion restaurant were quite decent too, the serving staff do work hard. I did not really like the self service restaurants, and this was because I like to have a salad on a lunch time, but had quite a bit of difficulty finding a cold plate, and the trying to get a drink also proved to be quite a problem. it was quicker to go to the bar. We only went on one excursion which was the Maderia cable car and sled ride, we throughly enjoyed it. We didn"t bother with the other excursions because we went on this cruise to relax and to please ourselves. At most of the ports you could walk into the town, although TUI did offer transfers which you had to pay for. I wouldn't go on this boat again.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

We booked a balcony cabin and what we got was a box room with a balcony. There was no storage space, except for two sets of small drawers at each side of the bed, and three/four drawers in the wardrobe, oh and the safe was also in here (on top of the drawers) In order to open the drawers, you had to open both wardrobe doors, and in order to open the safe you had to open the left hand wardrobe door has far has it would go, this was so that it did not hit the hinge on the door. When you come out of the bathroom room, you practically walked into the wardrobe (this is where it was. I paid in excess of £3,000 for this holiday, and on a rough calculation I may have well paid for a outside cabin or even better, paid for a outside+ cabin. We only had one chair, which was in front of the mirror. The roof in the ceiling constantly creaked, and on an evening when you were trying to get to sleep it became an irritation. The bathroom was nice, and the balcony was quite sheltered.
