We took a 4 day Bahama cruise on the Epic for a friend/coworker's wedding. We were affected by the Nor'easter and the rough seas cancelled our private island day and delayed our day at Nassau. The boat rocked terribly, but I understand that's the weather. The Epic didn't really offer a lot of frills, but they did try when they scrambled for last minute days at sea. Everything was timing and weather, so can't blame the ship per se. But a lost island stop and surrounded by spring breakers didn't really help our experience. Service was so slow and food was sub par at best.
Do not go to La Cocina. When we went for an 830 PM reservation, the restaurant was not full and the service was terribly slow and the food came out under cooked. It took 3 hours to have dinner. Ridiculous.
I also think the ship is too greedy with their casino. I didn't gamble much, but there's no reason there shouldn't be $5 tables on a cruise ship during the day. Craps tables were always a $10 minimum which is absurd when the focus of cruise ship shouldn't be the casino. Total money grab.
The cabin was ok. I think the bathroom setup is bizarre. Nothing the ship can do about it now, but it's odd if you're taking a shower and half to cut off the exit to the room if you're with a non-significant other. The bed was very uncomfortable.
We had a wedding this day, so the day was planned. The market area of the ship was a bit drab.
